Martyn's Kitchen is at the heart of our business. The team, who are all trained to provide the dishes prepared using the best ingredients, locally where possible, all work very closely under the watchful eye of Martyn Emsen (above). He now trains his two sons who follow in his footsteps - helping with home-made sausages (below).
Martyn has more years of experience than he cares to remember. Beginning at Worcester College, just down the road, he started as an apprentice at the prestigious Belfry at Sutton Coldfield. After winning a scholarship to Switzerland, Martyn worked in kitchens all over the world. In 1992, he set up his own restaurant in North Yorkshire, where he met the future Mrs. Emsen.

Martyn has a passion for food. He will only use the best ingredients, sometimes local, sometimes from the most remote sources. The vegetable patch this year will yield all sorts of things, and dishes will be created from them. Delicious!
